Tour Itinerary

DAY 1

Nairobi – Masai Mara Game Reserve(Approx. 275 km | 5–6 hrs drive through the Great Rift

Your adventure begins with a warm pick-up by Nature Romp Safaris from your Nairobi location — be it the airport, hotel, or residence. You’ll then be transferred to our base office for a quick safari orientation before hitting the open road.

Your overland journey to the Masai Mara traverses some of Kenya’s most dramatic scenery, including a stop at the Great Rift Valley Viewpoint, where you can admire panoramic views of this vast geological marvel. As you descend into the Rift and continue through Narok Town, a cultural gateway to Maasailand, you’ll stop for lunch and refreshment before heading deeper into the savannah.

As you cross into Maasai Mara territory, the landscape opens into iconic golden plains — and so does your introduction to the wild. Upon arrival, check in at your safari lodge or tented camp, followed by a short rest.

Later in the afternoon, embark on your first game drive, catching the golden hour as you spot your first wildlife — from elephant herds roaming in the distance to lion prides lounging under acacia trees, and graceful giraffes, zebras, buffaloes, cheetahs, and more making your welcome into the reserve unforgettable. Your drive continues into the early evening before heading back to the lodge for a delicious dinner and overnight stay

Accommodation
Maasai Mara Sopa Lodge
Located high on the slopes of the Oloolaimutia Hills, Masai Mara Sopa Lodge was one of the first safari lodges to be built in the Maasai Mara Game Reserve, a reason why its gardens and trees are so lush and mature. All the buildings follow the design of traditional African round houses with conical roofs, and these stretch along the line of the hil...
DAY 2

Full-Day Safari in Masai Mara Game Reserve

After an early breakfast, set out for a full day of uninterrupted wildlife viewing across the expansive plains of the Masai Mara — one of Africa’s most celebrated ecosystems.

Spend your day tracking the Big Five (lion, elephant, rhino, buffalo, and leopard), as well as a stunning array of other wildlife including topi, gazelles, ostriches, hyenas, and jackals. You’ll follow winding game tracks that lead to prime wildlife hotspots, with one key stop at the Mara River — a natural border where hippos bask and crocodiles patrol the waters.

If your visit coincides with the Great Wildebeest Migration (typically between July and October), you may witness the awe-inspiring river crossings — a raw, real-time spectacle of survival and instinct. Few safari moments compare.

Midday, enjoy a picnic lunch in the heart of the bush, surrounded by nature’s sounds and sights. Afterward, continue exploring until the sun sets over the plains.

You may choose to enhance your experience with an optional visit to a local Maasai village ($10 per person), offering a cultural encounter with one of East Africa’s most iconic tribes. Return to the lodge for a hearty dinner and your second night in the wild.
