A 3-day safari to Katavi National Park from Dar es Salaam is feasible via a short fly-in safari, which is recommended due to the park's extreme remoteness. The itinerary involves flying from Dar es Salaam to Mpanda, with flights operating on specific days, followed by an afternoon game drive on Day 1, a full-day game drive on Day 2, and departure on Day 3. This fly-in package typically includes flights, accommodation, meals, park fees, and a 4x4 game drive vehicle and guide. On the first day, you will fly from Dar Es Salaam to Mpanda on a flight that will take about one and a half hours. When you get to Mpanda, you will be driven to your chosen accommodation where you will have lunch, settle in before embarking on a late afternoon game drive. After breakfast on the second day, we will depart from the camp for your morning game drive at the Katavi National Park. The wilderness of Katavi National Park, located in the western area of Tanzania, is one of the most untouched areas in the entire country. Katavi’s dramatic scenery is as varied as it is pristine. Flood plains of thick reeds and dense waterways are home to a huge population of hippo and varied birdlife. In the woodlands to the west, forest canopies shroud herds of buffaloes and elephants. Seasonal lakes fill with dirty coloured water after the rains and animals from all corners of the park descend in them to drink. The park is also home to the rare roan and sable antelope species, and it is a must-see for visitors intending to explore the wilds of the continent. After breakfast on the final day, your driver guide will transfer you to Mpanda. If time allows, we shall have a brief game drive en route. When you get to Mpanda, you will embark on a return flight to Dar es salaam. (Meal Paln : Breakfast Only).
